Challenging the Sub-Regional Strategy

MakingWalesEnglish.com

Would you like to see Wales become part of England?

If your answer is NO – if you’d like Wales to remain Wales…

You might be surprised to hear that the county councils of Wrexham, Denbigh and Flint have already started making planning decisions based on a strategy which says it will ‘lessen Welsh identity’ in the north-east of Wales.

This strategy is to develop the north-east of Wales as a commuter suburb for Liverpool and Manchester. Yes, even more than they already have.

They’re calling it the Mersey-Dee Alliance – and what it means is that because Liverpool and Manchester can’t easily expand to their north or east (because of national parks and greenbelt protection) they’re going to expand into the north-east of Wales, and along the north coast.

It’s the biggest land-grab of Welsh territory in the last 500 years.
